President and Chief Executive Officer - JD Choi
JD is recognized as an international tax expert and demonstrates extraordinary client-focus. Prior to forming TTI JD worked as an international tax consultant for over 14 years with a number of Big Four accounting firms
Most recently, JD created a successful international tax specialty group, Quantitative Consulting Services (QCS) at Deloitte & Touche. As the leader of the QCS group, he created international tax planning applications as part of large-scale international tax planning and compliance engagements. JD also worked on a variety of engagements requiring an in-depth understanding of international tax issues, including determination of earnings and profits, overall foreign losses, tax basis of assets, and pre- and post- disposition attribute studies.
Prior to joining Deloitte & Touche, JD worked with Arthur Andersen LLP’s corporate tax software development office in Sarasota, Florida. At Arthur Andersen he was instrumental in the conceptual design of International Compliance, designing the paradigm, critical screens, international tax calculations, and tax calculation testing scenarios. JD also assisted with the definition of a data extraction script for Arthur Andersen that provided International Compliance users with the ability to extract tax attributes from compliance data to create international tax planning scenarios.
JD also worked for Price Waterhouse for a number of years in its International Tax Services group in the New York office. He worked on large multinational clients’ international tax planning issues requiring complex calculations. JD also worked with the Price Waterhouse Tax Technologies Group as a tour-of-duty international tax manager, serving its AYCE clients in the New York area. During his tenure, JD used FTMS™ and ITMS™ extensively to build tax planning models, audit defense models, and perform large-scale tax compliance for many clients.
JD graduated from the University of Texas and New York Law School. He is a member of the Texas State CPA, AICPA, ABA, and New York and New Jersey Bar associations.
Vice President and Chief Information Officer - Biren Patel
Biren is an international tax expert with an excellent ability to develop custom applications to help clients. He is well-versed in both international tax compliance and software development issues. Prior to forming TTI with JD, Biren worked with JD at both Deloitte & Touche and Arthur Andersen LLP.
Biren worked on a number of large-scale compliance and planning projects, and created various applications while working for Deloitte & Touche as part of the QCS group. Biren created a foreign tax credit application for a Fortune 100 company that was used for the filing of Form 1118. He also participated in the development of a tax planning application (Global Entity Information System) that extracts tax planning information from CORPInternational™. His client-focused custom applications were very well received by his Fortune 100 clients.
Prior to joining Deloitte & Touche, Biren worked with Arthur Andersen’s corporate tax software development office in Sarasota, Florida. At Arthur Andersen, he was actively involved with the International Compliance product development effort. He provided domain clarifications to development and delivered over 450 separate international tax testing scenarios for independent product testing of AACTS™- International Compliance. Biren also participated in the development of the AACTS™-FSC product.
Biren graduated with honors from Clemson University with a Masters degree in Business Administration. He received his accounting credits from The University of Central Florida.
Vice President and Chief Technology Officer - Jeff Wenger
Jeff is recognized as an Internet pioneer and visionary. He serves as the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for TTI, leading product development and technical direction. His leadership is instrumental in helping Tax Series™ products achieve unprecedented client satisfaction ratings by providing tight integration with existing business processes and ERP systems while improving collaboration and efficiencies within the tax and finance groups.
Prior to joining TTI, Jeff founded an Internet start-up and consumer portal that achieved rapid viral growth and received numerous awards. He has also participated in a high-tech enterprise software IPO start-up and has prior experience delivering complex tax and financial systems.
Jeff graduated with honors from the University of Miami, Florida, with a dual degree in Computer Science and Economics.
